Born in Denmark, I came to the United States when I was young and grew up in Los Angeles. Appreciating different cultures has been my lifelong passion and I carried that into my study of art and history in university. That passion continued when I moved to live in China for over a decade studying Mandarin, Chinese and Tibetan painting, doing community development and finally starting a business with my wife selling yarns produced from Tibetan yak down. After returning to the United States, my family and I have made North Carolina our home. In North Carolina I have taught at Athens Drive High School, East Cary Middle School and now Lufkin Road Middle School.
